Customer Reviews:

Beware, if you think it has a HDMI!4
I just received this nice 15.6″ notebook and I admit that I like it! The sound is great. The keypad is really handy when you need it. And the reponse of this computer is satisfying with windows 7 loaded.

However, pictures in its product page might be a deceiving. Although they are shown in the pics, this model does NOT come with a webcam and HDMI. I was surprised when I opened the box and found this truth. Hence, I further digged into the specification sheet and found that I was wrong. Beware, if you think this is really a steal with a webcam and HDMI for this low price, you may just make a mistake like what I did.

In all, I do not regret my decision of buying it at all. You can buy a netbook for $299.99. But I will pay a little bit more to go with this notebook ($379.99) with full capability, faster processing speed and a DVD burner in trade of the mobility. Now, I am going return my cute but slow netbook…

Great Value Great Laptop5
Great computer with HD Screen, the new Windows 7 so user friendly, and I love the expanded keyboard - with numbers set off to the side. I was looking at laptops twice the price ($600-$700) when I saw this one pop up on the best sellers list for Amazon. The only difference between the higher price notebooks and this Compaq is that it does not have a webcam or 4 GB of memory - it only has 2 but is expandable to 4. You can’t get a better laptop for the price $379. Very happy with my purchase!

A laymans review4
I am not a computer geek so will skip the technical mumbo-jumbo and give the laymans review… It works good. Ive had it for a couple weeks now and I have no complaints. Everything runs fast and smooth. The moniter is big and bright and clear. For what I do (web surfing, photo editing, media streaming) it works great. Also, I gotta say that I love Windows 7. To me it is a big leap forward from my previous operating system Windows XP.

Every now and then my wife and I like to grab the most random video at Blockbuster we can pick up and we hit the jackpot with this one! Danny McBride plays a Tae Kwon Do instructor going through somewhat of a midlife crisis. Sounds simple, but it was three times funnier than Napoleon Dynamite and all the no name actors were awesome! You will laugh literally every one to two minutes. I have systematically made everyone of my friends look this.

You can easily leer where Danny McBride started creating the Kenny Powers character. Fred Simmons is a slight cleaner, slight more subdued version of Powers. I had several laughs at this movie however unfortunately I would probably have enjoyed it more if I had seen it before East Scoot and Down. I viewed it with a few friends and although we all loved it, the ones who hadn’t seen East Mosey seemed to like it more. One thing is clear; this group: McBride, Ben Best & Jody Hill are gonna be vast stars.

Loved the movie. That said, I was confused on what the differences were on the 3 DVD versions, but found some details that I’ve posted below. As for me, I’m going with this two-disc unrated version.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Knocked Up! Click Here

Basic extras — available on all (both R-rated and Unrated Editions) :

- Deleted and Extended Scenes

- Gag Reel

Buy,Download, Or Stream Knocked Up! Click Here

-”Directing the Director” (Capote director Bennett Miller stops by to benefit Apatow salvage the job done)

- Line-O-Rama (Tons of alternate takes)

- Audio commentary with Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and Bill Hader

- Roller Coaster Featurette

Goodies available only on the Unrated releases:

- MORE Deleted and Extended Scenes (some comely raunchy ones, reportedly)

- Topless Scene: “Web Execute”

And finally, extras available only on this 2-disc Unrated version:

- Judd Apatow’s Video Diaries

- Finding Ben Stone (A mock casting session)

- Stripper Confidential (Rogen and Paul Rudd wade through some Sin City salaciousness)

- Even MORE Deleted and Extended Scenes / Gag Reel Footage!

- Another topless Scene: “Restaurant”

- Katherine Heigl’s Audition Tape

.. “and more” (I’m really hoping for another “You know how I know you’re glad? ” extended scene like in 40-year-old Virgin)

Director Judd Apatow makes another R rated comedy with a heart. He makes characters that are loyal and we can picture to with raunchy humor, however he slyly wraps it up with a message about responsibility as he did in 40 Year Venerable Virgin with celibacy.

A hilarious, actual, and ultimately touching film with a message and one of the best of 2007.

This is one of the highest rated films of the year it earned a 91% obvious rating out of 177 critics reviews.

Heres info I found on the dvd on movieweb:

According to The Digital Bits, Judd Apatow’s box office wreck Knocked Up is going to be coming to DVD in 4 different versions on September 25 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

There is going to be an “R-rated widescreen, Unrated (and Unprotected) widescreen and Fat Frame (that will sell for $29.98 each) and a 2-disc special edition in Unrated (and Unprotected) widescreen (that will sell for $30.98), as well as an DVD/HD-DVD Combo version of the Unrated edition (that will sell for $39.98) .”

DVD Features:

- Audio commentary with writer/director Judd Apatow, executive producer/star Seth Rogen and actor Bill Hader

- Deleted scenes

- Extended and alternate scenes

- Gag reel

- “Line-O-Rama” Featurette

- “Roller Coaster Doc” Featurette

- “Directing the Director” Featurette

- “Topless Scene: Wed Gain Company” Featurette

Aired in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, this National Geograph program does an exceptional job of detailing the danger, both natural and man-made, that overcame the city of Original Orleans. Unfortunately, it also does an extremely abominable job of describing the pains that struck south Mississippi.

Buy,Download, Or Stream National Geographic - Inside Hurricane Katrina! Click Here

In terms of natural difficulty, Original Orleans was actually on the weaker western side of the storm. It took a glancing rather than a assert blow from Hurricane Katrina, a fact that is never really notorious by this documentary. If Unusual Orleans “dodged the bullet” in terms of natural anguish, however, it was not so fortunate in terms of man-made inconvenience. The levee system, long neglected by region and federal officals, failed under the weight of water the storm piled against it. Situated below sea level, Modern Orleans began to gain water like a large bowl.

INSIDE HURRICANE KATRINA does an fine job of presenting the details of both the levee failure and the chaotic local, residence, and federal response, a response that effectively made a very abominable set incredibly worse. Communications failures, sloppy planning, and arrogant attitudes probably cost more lives in Original Orleans than the hurricane itself; the portrait is disturbing, to say the least, and you are left with a mountainous desire to give everyone from mayor to president a genuine swift kick in the pants.

Buy,Download, Or Stream National Geographic - Inside Hurricane Katrina! Click Here

As previously celebrated, however, INSIDE KATRINA largely fails in its consideration of the Mississippi gulf glide, which was in the northeast and strongest quadrant of the storm. Hurricane Katrina would unleash a storm surge of thirty feet that caused more than 90 percent of all shorefront structures, no matter how well built, to fail; spacious tracts of metropolitan districts flooded while relentless winds and hurricane-spawned tornados devastated inland areas, and hurricane force winds were felt as far inland as the set capital of Jackson.

Just as Novel Orleans and southeastern Louisiana endured a largely incompetent first-response from region and federal teams, so too did Mississippi, where FEMA authorities feared rioting due to their maintain awful planning in everything from food supplies to emergency housing (and indeed there was some rioting in inland cities, where citizens were largely unprepared for Katrina’s far-reaching impact) ; to Mississippi’s credit, however, these failures were not further complicated by the political bickering that tended to represent events in Louisiana.

If Mississippi receives minute attention from this documentary, Alabama receives composed less–even though Mobile, one of the gulf’s major port cities, experienced some of the worst flooding in its history. Simply build, Hurricane Katrina was too vast in scope for a documentary running slightly less than two hours. The south Mississippi television residence WLOX has created a similar documentary that focuses on the Mississippi waft. Titled KATRINA: SOUTH MISSISSIPPI’S Sage, the DVD includes a two-hour documentary as well as four hours of extended footage; at note, however, it is available only through WLOX itself. Those fervent in hurricanes in general or Hurricane Katrina in particular would do well to recognize it out as a companion to this National Geographic production.

And Resident of Biloxi, Mississippi

In Memory of James and Shamsi Hyre, killed in Hurricane Katrina

29 August 2005

I myself was a resident of Recent Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Having impartial moved there in January of 2005 to initiate graduate school, I learned to fancy everything about the city (with the exception of the crime, traffic, and racial indifference) . Literally, everything about it–the culture, the music, the people–I loved it. Even with the things I didn’t luxuriate in, I was rather articulate and glad to be there. Fast-forward almost nine months later, I was watching the space I lived become submerged in polluted water from a relatives home in Alabama. This DVD has become an notable scrapbook for me.

“National Geographic - Inside Hurricane Katrina” is quite possibly the best comprehensive coverage of the devestation that unfolded out accurate now. To its downfall, it fails to extensively cloak some of the faulty things that occured in Mississippi and Alabama. With that said, since I lived in the Crecent City, at the time of the storm, my mind was only focussed on that. Thus the reason I liked this DVD so worthy. I would enjoy another companion disc to solely talk about what happened in the coastal regions of Mississippi and Alabama. Two DVDs wouldn’t even fully satisfy what happened because of this storm.

The ample thing about this disc is it timelines what went down from the initiate of the storm to its final dissapation. It doesn’t play the politcal game either, this documentary points fingers and shows flaws in all levels of governement, not unprejudiced federal, but space and local as well, which probably had more to do with the destruction that took spot afterward than Washington. Blooming and balanced, this DVD presents that facts and as it happened. Having seen the post-Katrina Novel Orleans with my very enjoy eyes, I beget the film makers had people like me in mind when they made this.

Customer Reviews:

Great fun and a good value5
I bought this system to augment a Panasonic 50″ plasma television. Having listened to television speakers for years, the presence, fullness and variety of having a theater sound system is great. Turn it up a little and let the bass speaker pound and movie watching becomes totally involving. It is also fun when sounds like breaking glass move circularly around the speakers. The Blue-ray quality is excellent and you will want to immediately upgrade your Netflix account to have them send you Blue-ray instead of DVD.

The setup is easy and because it is the same brand as my television the integration was also easy. The speakers are in front, on the sides and in the back of the room. The cables were long enough for my medium sized family room. You end up with another mess of wires running around so if you are a neat freak you might want to get a wireless system.

Two small quibbles. 1) The Blue-ray player is slow to respond and it takes quite a while for it to read and start displaying movies. Since this is my first Blue-ray I don’t know if it is just this machine or an issue with all of them. 2) I have not been able to configure the system so the theater speakers are automatically used when the television is turned on. You have to change it using the remote - not a big deal but can be confusing when you have to explain to someone to push the “Radio/Ext-In” button on the theater system remote until the display shows “D-IN 1″.

A really good product for the price and one that you will be delighted to use when you experience the upgrade from TV speakers.

quality product so far4
ive had this system for about a week now and all i can say is it works and sounds excellent. my only quibble, i cant figure out how to get 5.1 surround sound from digital optical out from computer using creative soundcard which says digital optical out is the only way to get 5.1, but cant seem to get it to work

Compare Prices on Miami Vice - Season Two

The second season of vice is arguably the best and here are some of the reasons why: The Prodigal Son — the premiere two hour episode may be the best vice, ironic that it takes residence in Novel York, not Miami. Features Penn Gillette and Jean Simmons. Out Where the Buses Don’t Speed — brought up by another reviewer and for honorable reason. Broad music and atmosphere featuring that guy from Animal House and The Insider. Definately Miami– featuring Ted Nugent as a psychopathic drug dealer and Arielle Dombasle as his psychopathic girlfriend that Crockett almost falls for. Titanic music again and astronomical ending featuring “Scream” by Cream. Runt Miss Perilous — grand music and a mountainous chronicle about a homicidal hooker who Tubbs takes under his sail. Trust Fund Pirates is also a big one — rich, trust fund kids who select to being pirates and robbing drug smugglers on the begin seas out of boredom features Rick Belzer and Noogie “Nug man” Lamonte. Bushido some fans did not care for it but I loved it. It was directed by Edward James Olmos and gives some background on Castillo’s spook days as he goes after an aged friend who has become a double agent. Different music and a different feel. A really expansive opening scene in this one as Crockett and Tubbs exhaust night vision and Zito hides under the sand with a snorkel! Sons and LOvers is an necessary episode in which Tubbs weak lover, Angelica, comes succor (remember from Return of Calderone) with some poor news for Tubbs. This was an essential episode for the history of vice and the Calderone saga. Unfortunatley, this season featured a couple of the lamer episodes such as: The Fix — Bill Russell as a believe with a gambling habit forces his son to fix a basketball game (but does have a noteworthy ending) and French Twist — where a french cop chases a french unpleasant guy and Crockett falls (sort of) for the cop. I did not care for these two episodes, although they weren’t obnoxious and I’ll appreciate watching them again. But other than those two, this is probably the best season of vice by far!

The second season of Miami Vice is undoubtedly the better of the first two, and therefore the best one featuring the “classic” Vice behold & style. There are those who actually remove the darker notice of season three or even people who acquire seasons four or five in higher adore (*shudder*), but if you appreciate Vice for the pastels, the Daytona Spyder and the dissimilarity between light glamour and dismal cesspits of crime, this is definitely the best episode for you.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Miami Vice - Season Two! Click Here

Episode breakdown:

Prodigal Son - 90 miniature season opener. Crockett and Tubbs go to the Tremendous Apple and occupy on a group of extremely ruthless and unsafe Colombians, who are actually backed by even more great forces. A mountainous eipsode, even though it’s not spot in Miami. The sequence of Sonny walking the nightly Current York streets while Glenn Frey’s “You Belong to the City” is playing or the remarkable showdown at the WTC arrive to mind.

Whatever Works - Dirty cops and the Santeria cult dominate this well done episode. Features an appearance by The Power Position performing their T.Rex screen “Bang a Gong (Win it On) “. Again a nicely developing residence and tall showdown here.

Out Where the Buses Don’t Accelerate - Crockett & Tubbs have to deal with a retired and kind of whacky vice cop who unbiased might lead them to something expansive. Or not. Episode with a lot of comic moments but also a very strong ending featuring Dire Straits’ “Brothers in Arms”.

The Dutch Oven - one of the slightly weaker episodes, mainly featuring Trudy being torn between appreciate and duty. Not dreadful but a bit lengthy. Advantageous open though, when Trudy has to destroy a suspect in the line of duty and has to deal with the ensuing investigation which puts heavy pressure on her.

Buddies - A young mother trying to develop amends in Miami’s night life and an feeble army buddy of Crockett’s with ties to organized crime design the parallel area lines of this episode. Suitable one, though not advantageous.

Junk Like - very strong as well as very disturbing episode, sharp a Napoleonic smuggler, his gorgeous girlfriend and a very black secret. Another suited showdown.

Tale of the Goat - another cult place, this time Voodoo. Position is so-so, but well done and very delicious actually. Mountainous acting on most parts. Towards the slay Tubbs risks distinguished and nearly pays a very high impress.

Bushido - extremely strong episode, how anyone could feel otherwise is beyond me. Castillo gets cought up by his past and has to protect his customary associate’s wife and son from Russian agents. Features a substantial villain played by David Rasche (Sledge Hammer) and a memorable showdown in an customary ruined villa on the Keys. Directed by Edward James Olmos.

Bought and Paid for - another episode featuring mainly supporting cast (namely Gina) but actually calm a very superb episode. Gina is out to nail the guy who raped her Haitian friend, but has a hard time doing so because of his father’s wealth and connections. Gargantuan site, expansive performance, rather traditional showdown though. Also featuring a nice Lambo - Ferrari dart.

Back in the World - Johnson’s first trouble as director and not a terrible one. Set is about Crockett’s army past reaching assist to the last days of the Vietnam war and how characters from that time suddenly reappear in Miami’s drug scene. Large set, trustworthy performance, substantial showdown. Music is exclusively by The Doors throughout this episode.

Phil the Shill - the musical godfather of Vice finally making an appearance - and in a leading role, too. Phil Collins plays a shady game-show host and scammer who settles for a while in Miami and could lead the vice cops to a sizable time drug dealer. Very memorable episode. If it lacks anything then maybe some seriousness, it’s one of the lighter episodes; but still: very grand recommended.

Definitely Miami - this episode is so powerful Miami Vice, it borders on the verge of being cartoonesque. Seems to be THE best episode ever for most fans, though not for me. I fetch it to be horribly overdone. But whatever, since most people seem to agree on this one being absolutly mountainous, let’s say it’s at least not unpleasant. Crockett gets alive to with an oh so helpless but enormous looking girl, which in turn is tied to a scamming and murdering drug dealer played by Ted Nugent. Place and performance aside, the music is actually gargantuan once more, the episode features many visually entertaining scenes with mammoth camerawork and I have to agree on the ending being outstanding as well.

Yankee Dollar - excellent but not marvelous episode. Nevertheless outstanding for a single scene… a single recount actually: stop up of Crockett’s face holding a suspect at gun point at his deceased girfliend’s house. One of Johnson’s finest moments. The overall state is a bit standard and a bit unexciting, but level-headed a really reliable episode, last but not least because of the trustworthy performances.

One Plot Sign - another very friendly one. French Canadians, a killed DA and a questionable defense attorney fabricate a set which doesn’t accept prizes for innovation but is delightful nonetheless. Very well done episode with a grand ending.

Little Miss Risky - Tubbs tries to relieve a young [scarlet woman] who might or might not be keen in the killings of a psychopath. A strong state and a expansive performance, don’t miss out on this one. Once more a gargantuan showdown.

Florence Italy - if there are any really obsolete episodes in this season, THIS is undoubtedly one of them. Which is a pity, because choosing the Miami racing scene as a set element sounds intrigiung at first. The realization sucks though. The position is straight and forgettable, the acting sub par - an episode not obliging of this season.

French Twist - really substantial ep. Modern set titillating Interpol agents and an international drug dealing assassin, well performed, well done.

The Fix - profitable episode about a gambling assume and his basketball playing son. A bit cheesy at times, a bit predictable, but overall not terrible.

Payback - another outstanding episode. An imprisoned dealer gets his revenge on Crockett by making his supplier (played by Frank Zappa) consider that Crockett has stolen $3 million dollars drug money from him. Colossal boat scenes.

Free Verse - ambivalent episode. Stout place, ample performances and for many people probably a stout ep. Me, I rep the loud, hard partying, chairbound but lyrically ingenious and politically motivated exiled Cuban grandpa quite unnerving and clichéd. But recognize for yourself - if you like his character, you’ll savor this episode.

Trust Fund Pirates - first-rate episode. Trust fund babies playing murderous pirates and a trafficking pilot who could attend Crockett & Tubbs in finding those brats. Really well done, another one worth seeing.

Sons and Lovers - an outstanding last episode for an outstanding season. Angelina Calderon is aid and she didn’t approach alone: she brought her son and tries to protect his daddy - Tubbs - from being killed by her young, but ruthless, half-brother. It graceful remarkable all ends in tears, but fair Vice fans wouldn’t want it any other device.

And honest in case you missed my point so far: if there’s any remote chance that you might ever net at least ONE season of Miami Vice on DVD - come by THIS one.

Being an avid movie and music fan, I’m always delighted to score hidden gems in either artform that can grasp me by surprise. I will also say that on most occasions I usually tend to agree with the critics in their attitudes and assertions. However, this was not such a case. When I recently stumbled upon this movie, I had never heard of it; the cast immediately intrigued me, especially Ingrid Bergman (in a 60’s comedy?!) I did a shrimp research and was dissappointed to peer that most of the reviews of this film were either lukewarm or negative, with most of the complaints being made about the “miscasting of Ingrid Bergman”. Bewitching enough, Goldie Hawn managed to procure an Academy Award for her role…(was 1969 that awful a year for actresses? ) .

Anyway, I wasn’t expecting worthy when I finally watched it, especially after reading Leonard Maltin’s review. However, I swiftly found myself thouroughly enjoying the scenarios unfolding. Lighthearted, yes…but very fun. It is very remarkable in line with the Neil Simon plays/film of the era, having also been derived from a Broadway play. I have to say that fine feeble Leonard is corrupt on this one, as are many other critcs. The most fabulous error is the claim that Ingrid Bergman was miscast and has no comedic timing. She was a riot to contemplate in a role like this; I’ll say the best moments in the film are hers. To my eyes, Bergman appears to be having a blast with this role and it is quite apparent. At this point in her career, her mid 50’s, it is wholly exquisite to spy the detached dazzling Bergman having some lighthearted, carefree fun.

I am surprised that the Academy chose to honor Goldie Hawn for her performance. I found her to be a tad too cooky, even for a ’60’s go-go girl. Walter Matthau, however, plays the role of a sneaky dentist quite well and is fully toothsome.

Apart from the actors’ performances, I did also delight in the ogle and feel of the film. While many films from the 60’s and 70’s appear, to me, to be hopelessly dated in both of these aspects, I found that the “1969″ in this film looked broad. It was actually very engaging…oranges, browns, flowers, and miniskirts, et.al.

All in all, a very satisfying, simple runt romp. View folks, I’m not saying this is a masterpiece by any stretch, but I definately found this sterling seeing. The DVD has no extras to recount of…unbiased a trailer of the film, as well as trailers for two other completely unrelated film (? ) However, the transfer of the film to DVD is surprisingly satisfying…colors are rich and vibrant, with minimal artifacts, film dirt/damage. Also, and thankfully, the Widescreen is anamorphic. Of course, there is the obligatory inclusion of the Standard (aka butchered) Version on the flipside of the disk, for those who haven’t made the transition to the Proper map that is widescreen. (ok…so maybe that was a exiguous unnecessary)

So if you’ve possibly not seen or heard of this film and are keen, don’t listen to the critics on this one. Give it a try, it’s a respectable time.

This comedy is not thin. It has absolutely no sag, a honorable and actually believable storyline, likable and believable characters, mountainous acting, and it’s very droll. This is what they mean when they say they don’t build comedies like this anymore. Written at a time when Hollywood did not presume that the audience only needed a expose of bodily fluids and lame account lines to be elated.

The film demonstrates another point: the grand comedic actors don’t try to be silly. They unprejudiced act. I don’t know if Walter Mathau ever won an Oscar, but if he didn’t he would be, like Cary Grant, one of the greatest actors never to have done so. He was not only a broad comedy actor (”Cactus Flower”, “Weird Couple” and “A Modern Leaf”), but could quite convincingly play a thug (”Strangers When We Meet”) and a tough, no-nonsense cop (”The Laughing Policeman”) .

In this film, he’s luminous as always. With all respect to the original 20 million dollar a film generation, could Adam Sandler play the role of Julian Winston without simply playing, oh, Adam Sandler?

Ingrid Bergman is amazing. And by that, I mean incredibly sexy. You have no pain whatsoever seeing why Walter Mathau eventually picks her over a 21 year venerable Goldie Hawn. And you fully understand why the noteworthy younger man nuzzles her neck while dancing with her. While watching the film, I kept reminding myself that it had been made 25 years after “Casablanca” and yet there she was, detached looking smashing.

So yeah, it’s “dated”. Were that more contemporary Hollywood comedies, maybe even one, were so dated.
