One of the funniest films ever made that mild manages to own up an intriguing site. A total winner.

It features some of the most genuinely insensible and comical tough guys in the history of cinema, and a entertaining humdrum burn by Deniro, a shortchanged ex-cop, who fair wants a quiet small coffee shop as payment for his decency and integrity. The laughable chemistry between Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin is top-drawer. Surrounded on all side by ethical infants, these two characters at least know the contrast between virtue and vice, and are ironically the accurate backbone of the film.

Comedies that don’t wallow in their humor are twice as considerable fun, and Midnight Rush maintains a swift stir throughout. Situation-wise, it’s a dynamo of action. I found the denouement to be quite bright as well, at the very least it provokes view.

If you’re looking for a comedy with depth, bite, wit and excitement, then pick up Midnight Rush. The DVD’s spiffy special features quite simply reinforce my recommendation of purchasing this one, not objective renting.

This film pairs Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin in a Buddy/ Road film/ Action chronicle combination that results in one of the best pairnings ever in this type of movie. Both actors are in top make and play off of each other beautifully. The supporting cast is also salubrious particularly Dennis Farina who delivers a trustworthy performance as a sleazy mob boss who has an endless supply of creative threats to employ to motivate his subordinates. Yaphett Koto is also very profitable as frustrated FBI Inspector Alonzo Mosley. It is the combination of DeNiro and Grodin that really drives the flim and provides both it’s best comedy and it’s more dramatic moments. One of the best movies of this type I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended. There are so many memorable lines that the movie holds up to repeated viewings.

A sumptuous film version of Daphne du Maurier’s Gothic suspense unusual. Quick-witted direction by Alfred Hitchcock (his first American-made feature), beautiful cinematography by Oscar-winner George Barnes, and glorious art direction by Lyle Wheeler underscore impeccable performances by the entire cast. Laurence Olivier is salubrious as the enigmatic Maxim, whose brooding ambivalance masks a sunless secret; Joan Fontaine hits all the lawful notes as the confused and horrified Second Mrs. de Winter; and Judith Anderson (made up very grand like Gloria Holden in Universal’s “Dracula’s Daughter”) is chillingly repellant as the malevolent housekeeper Mrs. Danvers. These three Oscar nominees are ably abetted by George Sanders playing Rebecca’s cad of a cousin, and Florence Bates as the vitriolic social butterfly Edyth Van Hopper. In what must have been an incredibly halt hurry, this film beat out 20th Century-Fox’s landmark “The Grapes of Wrath” for the 1940 Best Recount Oscar.

The Anchor Bay DVD offers a ravishing video transfer of this classic mystery. The report is bright and distinct with proper dissimilarity throughout, and the soundtrack is smart and crisp. Although the package doesn’t mention it, the DVD does offer Chapter Search (always a welcome plus) . There aren’t any bonus materials like theatrical trailers, cast biographies, photo galleries, etc., but this is calm a apt edition of a trustworthy film classic.

Joan Fontaine stars as a miserably skittish and awkward lady’s companion who meets the sophisticated and recently widowed Maxim de Winter in Monte Carlo. They seem an weird couple, yet after a few short weeks they marry and approach home to his imposing English country estate, Manderley. The young bride is overwhelmed with her original, lavish lifestyle and is especially intimidated by the forbidding housekeeper who keeps her first mistress’ memory and influence alive. Maxim reveals a poor secret which forever alters the couple’s life, and affects the very existence of Manderley.

This wonderfully atmospheric account, complete with swirling fog and spooky organ music, will grasp you away to a world where runt Cinderella really does marry the exquisite prince and lives in the mysterious castle, but things have a inferior habit of going bump in the night. Joan Fontaine gives a breathtaking performance, convincing us she really is crippled with feelings of inadequacy, despite being a flawless beauty. Judith Anderson is the sneering, contemptuous housekeeper whose devotion to her mature mistress turns to madness. Laurence Olivier makes a properly snobbish and mysterious Maxim and manages to be the hero despite a fatal flaw. The title character, Rebecca (the first Mrs. de Winter), is never seen but is a mighty force, as is the imposing house of Manderley. If you like gothic romances filled with 1940’s elegance and lots of creepy atmosphere, you’ll indulge in Rebecca.

This movie is incomparable. I saw it three times in theaters and each time converted a recent, previously sceptical friend. Jet is as endearing as ever, but more importantly, the fight scenes cannot be matched. They had to write Jet’s character’s superhuman background into the account simply to explain how speedy he moves. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m a stout fan of Jet Li, and I’ve seen most of his movies since I admire his action scenes and his acting: whether it’s serious, hillarious, pleasant, or heinous. I have some of his movies, and I recently purchased this movie thinking it would be somewhat like “Batman.” Well, my expectation was completely off, but in a negative procedure. Since I bought a Chinese version, which did not enjoy the “rap” other people were talking about, the sound accomplish was ok. It was the place and action scenes that blew. Jet Li had few fighting scenes throughout the film and those were quite disappointing shimmering his abilities from previous movies. The director, Tsui Hark, who also teamed up with Li in OUTIC series, “High Risk,” and so on, was able to show big fighting scenes and well-behaved status. This film, which was particularly aimed at American viewers, was a disappointing one. It’s not worth buying, but it would not injure to survey it to glimpse if you want to view Jet Li getting beaten up :) If you want to examine Jet Li’s generous movies, peek “Fong Sai Yuk I & II,” “Fist of Sage,” “My Father is a Hero,” “Bodyguard from Beijing,” and the movies mentioned above. Thank you for taking your time viewing my review^^

I truly enjoyed this movie - and wouldn’t hesitate to allow some of my young children to examine it! There is no nefarious language, and dating and first crush situations were handled very tastefully - and even with a flair of innocence about them! I happen to be the oldest of 7, my husband is one of 8, and together we have 5 children - so we are very mighty pro grand families. It is very refreshing to spy a distinct legend enchanting not one, but TWO immense families! In this day and age where society pushes the understanding that 1 or 2 children makes the perfect family, this movie gives the viewer a fairly suitable look of what life can be like with many more siblings. Of course there will be times of exertion and disagreements, but there is also plenty of admire to go around, and this is the ultimate conclusion of this movie - in BOTH families! There are many lessons to be learned in this film - not the least of which is the need to have a obvious vision of what is more principal in life. Both fathers in this chronicle are struggling with competitiveness that has become an obsession, but I found it truly challenging when Steve Martin’s character chooses to forfeit the final tie-breaking event because of the potential risk to his 9-months-pregnant daughter. His was the choice of a lawful champion, and in the slay, both fathers approach to ogle that their families are so worthy more primary than winning another trophy! What a truly refreshing message to families and young people who are being bombarded with messages of “me first” and “ogle out for number one!”

I most certainly do not regret the time and money spent to gawk this film! If you are tired of all the sex, violence and gore demonstrate in so worthy of today’s movie choices, I suggest you give this film a try. It is rare to lag out of a movie theater feeling uplifted, but that is exactly what this film did for me!

Depending where you at when you seek this flick, but if you’re on your ski vacation, then watching this film you’ll forget that your snowboard is outside and that it’s wintry, because the film concerns a family vacation at a lake around labor day.

Steve Martin is comical as always and there are a few unique lines and ideas. And certain there are a couple of dreary scenes that should have been left out, but not too unpleasant so that your 8-year stale can probably serene seek it without asking too many questions. Eugene Levy (probably not as well known by his name to too many folks) is well-behaved and I like him goofing off even more than Martin for the most section.

The storyline is about two extended families that apparently had a type of rivalry going on for many years, and now they meet at that particular lake again and on labor day they have a family competition there and so on. While Martin plays the loving Baker dad who’s not too well off financially, Levy plays the now wealthy Murtaugh dad who’s on his third marriage (with Carmen Elektra as number 3) and who owns most of the land around the lake.

The only scrape I can gaze is that mighty of the fun is predictable, but there are serene a number of hearty laughs. It’s a relaxing family movie and you fair wish that it was summer out there and you too could go for a swim and/or so some water skiing in a lake instead of the apres ski. Well, this movie is an opportunity to recall your popcorn and relax during this busy holiday season, and to have some shapely fun for the most share.

This movie is delightful on many levels.

Right off you know it is a John Wayne movie. It is bolt to have some John Wayne formula and actors that he works with in other movies. Add to this a cast not honest of names, but actors that have a following in their won fair. Now you have some vast material to work with.

Throw in Director Otto Preminger, who directed “Laura” (1944) (glance my review) and many other lovely films.

Add an animated myth. It almost seems like two films. The first film being before the war with the relationships surrounding navy life and the Eddingtons (Kirk Douglas, and Barbara Bouchet) . The second is after the war gets going with too many subplots to name. However I appreciated the relationship as Captain Rockwell Torrey (John Wayne) rediscovers and builds a relationship with his son, Ensign Jeremiah ‘Jere’ Torrey (Brandon De Wilde) .

You regain the entire DVD goodie that fabricate them work while. This includes (Modern making-of In Harm’s Arrangement)

I do not want to leave you with some concept that this is some sort of artsy movie. It really is a war movie with fleet ships going in harm’s map.

———————————————————————————————————–

“Donovan’s Reef”

You say it’s your birthday

Yes it is a John Wayne movie and has many of his standard cast. This is a Christmas movie and a birthday movie. And, And, And. John Wayne gets to say, “Swing your legs…limbs over” in his John Wane manner.

Cesar Romero (Marquis Andre de Lage) is always scheming to go to Hollywood and is the first to bring up the fact that the offspring of Jack Warden (Dr. William Dedham) are half-cast and may not meet Boston standards. This leads to situations that objective maintain snowballing. “Oh, what tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”

Everyone gets an appropriate prove for Christmas. But I judge the best one is the one that Lee Marvin (Thomas Aloysius ‘Boats’ Gilhooley) receives. And he gets to play King of America at the pageant.

There is not a dumb moment in this film and you have to support up with all the subplots. And the scenery is breathtaking.

This was actually an anniversary gift for my husband as he had mentioned a few weeks before that he would like to be able to notice “In Harms Design” all the map through whenever he wanted to. When I went to Amazon, they had the combination DVD of “In Harms Design and Donovan’s Reef” together at a very reasonable tag. Since my husband likes both of these movies (actually anything John Wayne), I purchased the combination and it was the one that had the highest rating.

We’ve been very gay with the DVD and my husband has watched it probably 4 or 5 times since it arrived (I might mediate about sending it relieve if it keeps up at this rate!) . For anyone who loves John Wayne movies and the myth of Pearl Harbor (in a movie - black/white - version) they will indulge in it. Also “Donovan’s Reef” is a precise kick as there is comedy in it with Lee Marvin and a number of other characters that are truly John Wayne consistent characters.

Masterfully directed by Frank Oz, this comedy is one of the brightest spots in a long line of tasteless 90’s comedies. In an era where comedies are dominated by sex, crudity, and ugly language, “What About Bob? ” is a breath of modern air. The comedy is a harmless and sinless masterpiece of irony with chuckles. The head-scratching, laugh-at-loud compulsive mannerisms combined with symptoms of paranoia from patient Bob Wiley (B. Murray) pushes this film to the top of smart comedies. Bob has issues. Bob is panicked to touch things without a handkerchief. Bob is tremulous of crowds. Bob has fears of his bladder exploding. Bob is stupefied of anything and everything outside his apartment. But Bob finds hope in a modern and celebrated psychiatrist named Dr. Leo Marvin (R. Dreyfuss) . Dr. Marvin is at the pinacole of his career with his current best selling help-book that has earned him fame. When Dr. Marvin takes Bob on as his client, he has no plan what he’s getting himself into.

Bob goes bananas when his current doctor, Leo Marvin, decides to go on vacation and will not be available to treat Bob for a whole month. Desperate for his doctor, Bob tracks Dr. Marvin down. The relaxing Leo Marvin has his vacation interrupted and imposed upon by a friend-seeking Bob Wiley, who wants to be pleased Dr. Marvin’s vacation time with him. Dr. Marvin, disturbed by Bob’s behavior, is unable to convince Bob to leave. Before Dr. Marvin can originate to realize that Bob has latched onto him, Bob is aleady befriending Dr. Marvin’s entire household; which includes his wife (J. Hagerty) and son (C. Korsmo) and daughter. Resentment and jealousy become evident in Dr. Marvin as his growing frustration with Bob intensifies. As Bob grows more common with everyone, Dr. Marvin sinks into a space of irrational hatred toward his modern patient. Eventually Bob shows evidence of progress as Dr. Marvin displays signs of regress.

Even though the movie is a enormous comedy, it is truly a psychology film. It takes a neurotic, crazy man–Bob Wiley–and puts him into a setting he doesn’t belong in, and he improves. On the flip side it takes a successful, sane man–Dr. Marvin–and places him into situations he doesn’t want, and he deteriorates. The irony is the patient becomes sane as the doctor turns insane. It’s a very clever opinion by Oz and it should be applauded, because it makes the movie very laughable.

No doubt that the film succeeds in its laughable aim and ironic formulas, while sending a clear message that it’s all correct not to be entirely sane and serious. Bob Wiley is the perfect, likeable looney while Dr. Marvin is the serious stiff that we all want to gape lighten up a tad.

The movie is rated “PG,” with hardly any offensive elements. There is no sex, no nudity, no violence (although hints of killing is mentioned), and level-headed language. A joke that Bob tells has a grievous reference, but it’s nothing to shutter from. The film is quite elegant in an age of film-making that has been anything but.

In summary, “What About Bob? ” is the perfect family comedy. It is light-hearted, advantageous, and laughable for everyone. If any criticism could be applied is that it is simply not long enough and goes by too posthaste. To say the least, it’s a gem first-rate of praise and laughs.

Buy,Download, Or Stream What About Bob?! Click Here

Funny, droll, droll! I laughed all the intention through this movie! The chemistry between annoying but lovable patient “Bob,” (Bill Murray), and the extremely uptight Dr. Leo Marvin, (Richard Dryfuss), is pure perfection! The writing is apt, as is the casting. This movie is a classic; one you can scrutinize over and over and over - and quiet acquire the line: “There are two types of people in the world - those who LIKE Neil Diamond, and those who don’t” as hysterical as the very first time you heard it! (I impartial wish this movie would arrive out on DVD)!

Filmmakers have been combining animation and live action since the days of peaceful film–but 1988’s WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT not only bested everything done previously, it site a standard that is unlikely to be surpassed. Although it has been available on VHS and in a mediocre DVD release for quite a few years, the film finally gets the star treatment in this “Vista Series” double DVD release, which includes the film in both pan-and-scan and letterbox formats and an assortment of extras, many of which are quite bewitching.

The idea and account are well known: cartoon characters are not drawings, but are living entities who work in the film industry, and when Maroon Cartoon star Roger Rabbit is accused of murdering Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye), he turns to private detective Eddie Bold (Bob Hoskins) for attend. Difficulty is, Eddie hates “Toons.” After all, one of them offed his brother, and Eddie hasn’t been sober since. The belief is a clever one, and the record could have gone in any number of directions–but ROGER RABBIT hops down a completely unexpected go. Position in 1947 Los Angeles, the film uses classic “noir” elements (and references everything from THE MALTESE FALCON to CHINATOWN) ; it also makes distinguished sly social commentary on racism, with the “Toons” performing in a Cotton Club-like nightclub, literally working for peanuts at the studios, and more or less confined to living in “Toontown,” which might easily be read as social ghettoization. And all of these sidelights are inviting and sharp. But the most fine thing about ROGER RABBIT is that it is fair unimaginative fun to glimpse.

Part of that fun comes from the profitable performances of Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd (as the corrupt Deem Doom), and Joanna Cassidy (Valiant’s sidekick Delores), who lead the live action cast. Another chunk of the fun is the device in which the film cameos a host of well-known cartoon characters, ranging from Betty Boop to Bugs Bunny and the Warner Bro.s gang to Dumbo–and animation buffs will admire the fact that Betty Boop and Bugs Bunny, to name but two, are voiced by the artists (Mae Questel and Mel Blanc) who created the character voices in the first station. But the vast deal here is the extremely believable plan in which the “Toons” fit into the proper world. They rendered with unbelievable detail and considerable three dimensionality. It’s fair an incredible thing to view.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Who Framed Roger Rabbit! Click Here

The overall DVD package is a bit outlandish, for it offers less in the procedure of bonuses than one might ask. The first disk includes a pan-and-scan version of the film, three Roger Rabbit/Baby Herman shorts, a kid-friendly documentary, and a CD-ROM game; the second disk offers the letterbox film with extras that will appeal to more frail viewers, most particularly on-set shots and a nifty documentary called “Slack the Ears.” The upshot is really a one-disk release that has been expanded to two by the trick of cramming both pan-and-scan and letterbox versions into a single package. That’s annoying–but even so, this is easily the best release of this film to date. It at gives the rabbit some justice at last, and I give it five stars on that basis.

One of the grand joys of movie-going is to spy a belief, that on-the-face-of-it is so goofy and off-beat that it should never work, but, in the slay, does work and works in spades! So it was for me with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This Vista Series DVD brings the film to us with a crisp & well-kept portray, THX sound, and a beautifully packaged plot of extras that include a very clever interactive menu, plus loads of goodies presented smartly, with humor and surprises.

Seeing the film again reminded me how impressed I was with the audacity and accomplishment of Bob Zemeckis and his collaborators on bringing off with care and intelligence, a interesting & amusing film that plays to both children & adults. Who would have thunk it?

Taking a Chinatown-like epic of early Los Angeles with some basis in fact (destroying the Red Line to construct blueprint for freeways) complete with abolish & intrigue & marrying it to the screwy conceit that cartoon figures, aka Toons, actually lived and worked as live actors and inhabited a part of LA called Toontown is such a manifestly dopey belief that it would prefer huge inspiration, intelligence and attention to detail to produce it even nominally work. All of those qualities were reveal, as the extras present, in abundance here, and the result was movie magic.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Who Framed Roger Rabbit! Click Here

Made prior to CGI coming into its contain, the characters were brought to the shroud brilliantly. As one of the animators pointed out, even early CGI was rejected because the film-makers wanted the characters to have their cartoon ogle, only brought into 3 dimensions. The hows and whys of what they did to execute this magic are worth a peer.

Anchored by the vast casting of Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd and Joanna Cassidy and Charles Fleischer, sparkling technical work, and a clever myth strung through with enormous honorable humor, dialogue and jokes for kids and adults, this film has some cherished, common lines, from Baby Herman’s “That’s my pickle, I’ve got a 50 year-old lust, and a 3 year-old petite.”, to Jessica Rabbit’s: “I’m not poor, I’m unprejudiced drawn that contrivance.”, to Eddie on the wayward bullets “Eh, Dum Dums!” This is stout stuff.

“Toons, gets em every time!” Some kind of classic here, and well worth your while.

If you are a fan of Bionicle this is a ample movie. In fact, I contemplate if you are not a fan of Bionicle you will become one after watching this. The movie is astounding - it looks gargantuan (amazing animation for a direct-to-video title!) has a gargantuan cast, and is unbiased a lot of fun. Definite, if you’re not too familiar with the world it may assume a few minutes to understand what’s happening, but all in all, it’s a very satisfying film. If you have young boys in the household it’s perfect for them - although, I should add my diminutive girl is walking around quoting it too - there’s a strong female character in the movie as well that she really responded to. A very high quality and thoughtful production - definitely recommend!

This one is a bit of an strange trade-off. The first three Bionicle movies won praise for their directing, writing, music and sound accomplish, but garnered criticism for their graphics, lisp talent, and action. This movie is like the opposite of those movies. The recount acting is big (with two exceptions) . All of the characters are voiced appropriately at the very least and artfully at the very most, except for Kiina, whose convey actress was unconvincing and sometimes annoying; and Tuma, whose insist actor did a heavenly acting job, but sounded substandard for the character. All of the characters are represented in this movie with three exceptions, but I don’t mind that as the cast never felt miniature. The contemplate of this film is aesthetic. The artists who worked on this film reveal a religious dedication to toy accuracy, which cannot be said for any of the other films. Even the pins that maintain the sets together tear. The environments are lush, and only one shot in the whole movie really stands apart from the others as unpleasant looking. And the fight choreography is not only lengthy, it’s tantalizing. Unfortunately, the camera work is not up to par with the fighting, stutter to sit detached and seek the action happen rather than fade with the characters in a meaningful device. The music in this film, while not bad, could definitely have been better. And many of the sound effects are cheesy and instantly recognizable from a dozen other films, commercials, and computer games (the Wilhelm sob is in there, too) . The proper writing of the movie is stunning, but the myth comes across more as section of a TV show’s unfinished station arc than a stand alone fragment, and the ending of the movie confirms fears that the whole thing is a set-up for a sequel in what i suspect will be a trilogy. But, this movie’s superb points far outweigh its unpleasant ones, and I found it to be highly savory as a long time fan of both Bionicle and Michael Dorn (who plays the leading role) . I recommend it.

Wizards (1977) aka War Wizards (the name was changed at the behest of George Lucas as he plan two movies released at the same time by the same studio with war in the title, his being Star Wars, would have been off-putting to movie goers) written and directed by Ralph Bakshi, was certainly a departure from some of his previous adult animation works, Fritz the Cat (1972) and Heavy Traffic (1973), but provided Bakshi the opportunity to expose he could obtain a fascinating feature for all viewers, young and aged, that spoke to the viewer on intellectual terms. Were all viewers ready to hear what he had to say? No, and given the subsequent release of Star Wars (like two weeks later) Wizards, which had been enjoying a ample amount of success, got pushed out of theaters to allow for state for George Lucas’ narrative location opera. With this release of Wizards on DVD, maybe now his film will garner the recognition it deserved so long ago.

The yarn goes that the Earth gets consumed in apocalyptic fire as man unleashes his most abominable achievement upon himself, and many years after his destruction, various forms of life open to near forth, including fairies, elves, pixies along with mutants, beings once humans but changed over thousands of years of exposure to radiation. Almost all technology is gone, wiped from the face of the Earth, and, in its’ plot, magic has prospered. Born of the same mother are two brothers who become much wizards, one estimable, Avatar, and the other atrocious, Blackwolf. After a tall battle, Avatar vanquishes Blackwolf, but not before Blackwolf issues a statement that indicates he will not go quietly into that marvelous night.

Blackwolf, now residing in the poisoned lands with the mutants and depraved things, puts together a massive army, but one lacking edifying motivation, and, subsequently, they are easily defeated any time they are sent forth into battle. Tired of his inability to near righteous on his enemies and secure ground, Blackwolf commands that his followers dig up once forgotten technology, hoping to acquire encourage within the scattered remnants of the remarkable technology of archaic. His salvation comes in the gain of propaganda films created by the Germans during WWII. Likening himself to the leader of the German forces during this past conflict, Blackwolf uses the films to not only motivate his troops, but to instill dread and horror among his enemies, showing the films in the sky during the battles.

This prompts Avatar, his female fairy charge Elinore, the leader of the Elves named Weehawk, and Blackwolf’s captured/converted assassin robot re-named peace, to embark on an adventure to inspect the source of Blackwolf’s unique power, and raze it. Can this audacious group effectively slay Blackwolf’s reign of dismay and extinguish his grand war machine before all is lost? There’s a nice bit of irony at the extinguish, one that really splendid the feature.

So, is the film any superior? I have read many opinions that will affirm you it’s not, and I can understand why this film would set some off, but I really enjoyed the movie. Bakshi’s goal, as I understood it, was to fabricate an bright feature with heart, one that didn’t talk down to its’ audience, as do other engaging features released by other companies, i.e. Disney, do at times. His animation style definitely unconventional, is certainly distinctive, and swims with realism, despite the surface superficialities. I really loved how he incorporated live action footage into the film, enveloping it with animation, creating an eerie superimposed background to various scenes within the movie. The film was rated PG at the time of it’s release, so I would be wary of showing it to younger viewers, but I consider it’s a really unbelievable alternative plump of heart to the shimmering, delighted, uber-clean, product tie-in animation build out by the larger profit-driven studios. There’s nothing evil with wanting to do a profit, certainly, but sometimes it seems like these films tend to cater to the lowest current denominator, and be more contrived to create money rather than entertain. The animation may seem uncouth, disturbing, and misogynistic at times, but this is animation with the sugar coating peeled away, mirroring elements within our society. Do people want to peruse this in an attractive feature? Maybe not, but I enjoyed it, but may gain myself hard presses to recommend it to all but the more discriminating viewer.

The record looks really pleasurable here in wide hide anamorphic, and there are some extraordinary special features including a commentary track by writer/director Ralph Bakshi, theatrical trailers and TV spots for the film, a tranquil gallery with conceptual drawings, and a featurette titled `Ralph Bakshi: The Wizard of Animation’. This provides a improbable scrutinize into the making of Wizards, and Bakshi also provides tons of background on himself, how he got started, his difficulties and successes within the animation business, his motivations for his films, his contempt for animation that talks down to audiences, and his experiences with various individuals during his career. This is the only featuette he’s doing for any of his releases, mainly due to his affinity for the project. Some of his comments, especially the ones hinting towards various conspiracies leveled at him, originate him sound a runt nutty, but beget for inviting viewing. All in all, an marvelous release of a tremendous minute spellbinding film that went against the ancient grain. Also, sustain an ear out for a squawk appearance by Price Hamill as Sean, king of the fairies.

While it is certainly not for young children, older teens and adults will procure a proper kick out of “Wizards”. Site in a post-apocalyptic world wrought by radiation due to a nuclear holocaust, most humans have died, and the population consists mainly of elves, fairies, dwarves, and then the mutants. The world is in pain from the threat of technology, brought upon by the immoral wizard, Blackwolf. It is up to his brother, the funny, yet obedient hearted wizard, Avatar, to finish him. Joining Avatar in his quest are Weehawk, chief of a tribe of warrior elves, Elenor, fairy princess of the land of Montagar, and Peace, a venerable assassin of Blackwolf’s (formerly known as Necron 99) who changes his ways and fights against the threat of technology. The WWII references abound, and there are many more adult-oriented references throughout. It dares to go where cartoons usually do not, making allusions to sex, prostitution, religion, and there’s even a rather racist Vietnam reference if you can regain it. However, I serene highly recommend “Wizards”, because in all it’s brashness, it deserves to be seen. What the animation lacks in quality, it more than makes up for in imagination. It’s quite laughable, and it also delivers some unexpected twists. I personally really like the plot it was done. The music really seems to fit the overall style of it, and the fantastic character designs and boom acting really pulls it all together. I definetely recommend it to anyone searching for something creative and different, and I’m definite any fan of cult classics will definetely want to check it out. However, I stress the importance of having an commence mind. I mediate those who are more launch to controversial subject matter will be able to better be pleased it, with all it’s dismal humor and it’s alternative-type feel. I contemplate it is something that everyone should glance at least once. It deserves more credit than it has been given, and I deem that it will really fabricate people finish and mediate about our world, and about themselves.

When you have stars of this caliber, who needs a true dwelling? They do terrific send ups of themselves and the result is a laughable, laughable film. The fact that Reynolds and Taylor got together on conceal makes the experience even more memorable.

Don’t go in expecting Shakespeare … but sit serve and savor the inside jokes and the fantastic talent of four of the living legends of Hollywood.

It is racy to read the rather divergent reviews of this TV movie here. Personally, I loved it, having been a long-time fan of all of the ladies. Not nearly enough of Liz in the film, positive, but Debbie has some vast wisecracks and Joan not only looks astonishing (hardly surprising she objective married someone her son’s age), but displays a respectable talent for comedy.

If anything, I was disappointed with Shirley’s storyline and the unnecessary “elated son” aspect. Also, aside from the headliners, some key supporting players are sadly lacklustre.

However, it is what it is - sort of an updated “Golden Girls” residence in Hollywood rather than Miami.
