It’s Christmas Eve and there’s a blizzard that shuts down an airport stranding onboard travelers. Spencer (Dylan Christopher) and his sister Katherine (Dominique Saldana) are stuck in an Unaccompanied Minors room for the holiday instead of spending it with their Father. In the UMS room, there a group of kids (including Spencer) that sustain trying to net out of the room acquire into even more danger. While those kids are being chased around the airport by security, the Unaccompanied Minors that were level-headed in the room (including Katherine) gather taken over to a hotel proper gradual the airport. Let’s face it, there is a subgenre of family films that prepubescents absolutely adore, the one where the kids outsmart the snide, bumbling adults. Every generation has had them, from `The Small Rascals’ to one of my personal childhood favorites, `The Goonies’. `Unaccompanied Minors’ is yet another entry into this subgenre, clear to excite children into being even more wild and uncontrollable as we advance this holiday season.

Part `Home Alone’, share `The Sizable Escape’, `Unaccompanied Minors’ mixes elements from the two, but puts them on the ultimate sugar hasten. When a blizzard hits the Midwest all flights are grounded on Christmas Eve, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded, most notably the `Unaccompanied Minors’.

So what do you do with a bunch of rowdy, sugar filled, and parentless rug rats? Well if you are a grumpy, “Scrooge-like” airport manager played by stand up comedian Louis Sad, you lock them in a basement and assign Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) from `That 70’s Show’ in charge of them. Unfortunately for the upper brass of the airport there are a few youngsters who don’t follow like the other “sheep” and sneak out only to cause some holiday mischief.

What ensues is a cat and mouse-like poke throughout the airport as Spencer (Dyllan Christopher) and his newly found posse, the self proclaimed “UM’s”, attempt to do the Christmas spirit for Spencer’s doubtful, younger sister. Of course some of the adventures along their quest are downright humorous, including sliding down baggage chutes and a high race, Looney Toons-ish sled hurry down a snowy, seemingly never ending, hill. Now ignoring the fact that a mountain-like hill next to an airport, which requires astronomical amount of flat place to operate, is completely illogical, it does gain for an droll scene in the context of `Unaccompanied Minors’.

Granted there is enough material to preserve the youngsters more than entertained, including even the faintest hint of romance for the few who are starting to realize the opposite sex might not have cooties after all, `Unaccompanied Minors’ doesn’t always forget the adults either. Perhaps the best nod to the begrudging parents who have been dragged to `Unaccompanied Minors’ comes from the appearance of “The Kid” from `Bad Santa’. As one of the rouge members of “The UM’s” the young actor, Brett Kelly, who warmed Billy Bob’s wintry heart a few Christmases serve is succor paying homage to his primitive character by quipping more of the curious and completely illogical jargon that we have advance to treasure him for. Unbiased wait until you hear his explanation of what Christmas really is.

So if `Unaccompanied Minors’ is fair a bunch of gleaming mouth kids, running amok and causing hell for a bunch of adults on Christmas Eve, where exactly is the broad value for families to grasp their children? Well by then kill of the sage everything comes together for some noble frail fashioned Christmas morals. Miracles happen, families, modern and traditional, are reunited and of course our “Scrooge” character finally discovers the value of Christmas. In fact the sugar coated finale of `Unaccompanied Minors’ is so sweet, and surprisingly fulfilling, that many of the illogical, childish happenings throughout the film can be forgiven.

In a diagram `Unaccompanied Minors’ isn’t anything we haven’t seen before. It follows in the same vein as its brethren wholeheartedly. While it may not be as ample as the films that came before it, `Unaccompanied Minors’ is a surprisingly fun treat that the whole family can luxuriate in. Who would have belief Christmas Eve at an airport could be so mighty fun?

The 1993 version of Nicholas Nickleby should not be considered. It is not merely the snake-faced appearance of the actor who plays the lead, nor the fact that he speaks as though he has a abominable icy with a stuffed-up nose. But he is also a contemporary character, not a nineteenth-century character. And that’s fair for starters.

The 2002 version is not terrible. With widescreen and surround sound and ample photography, this is a great production for what appears to be a tiny budget. Problems open with the casting. The American actor who plays the lead speaks in a carefully articulated generic English accent, but that won’t do, nor the fact that his manner and mannerisms are those of a contemporary rather than a period character. Christopher Plummer is an accomplished actor, but his danger here seems half-hearted, as though he didn’t consider remarkable of this production. The actor who plays Smike mumbles his lines as though he is bucking for the role of Hamlet. The yarn is grand enough that this movie is not a washout, but none of it is particularly well done.

What the above versions lack is comedy. Dickens was fond of mixing hilarious comedy with the most heart-rending drama, and Nicholas Nickleby is no exception. The above versions are merely drama. But the biggest crime is in the character of Mrs. Nickleby. Mrs. Nickleby is one of the titanic droll characters of world literature. Unfortunately, she is also politically improper. The above versions simply throw out her character and replace it with a blah nonentity.

The 1977 version. At over 5 hours, this version brings in more of the minor characters of this long account and treats the myth according to the book. As often with the BBC, there is lavish attention to sets and their accuracy and itsy-bitsy attention to anything else. The music is nonexistent. The photography is not abominable indoors but the few outdoor scenes are overexposed. And the acting is marginal at best. Nigel Havers is remarkable too weak for the role of Nicholas but does an adequate job. The ending is satisfying. All in all, well worth seeing, especially for readers of the book. The emphasis is on drama. There is humor in the character of Mrs. Nickleby and an attempt at humor in a couple of the minor characters.

The 1947 version was made before the Dhimmist ideology came to dominate movie-making, and here we glean Mrs. Nickleby in all her mind-boggling glory. In fact, all of the characters in this movie have that Dickensian edge that makes them larger, or at least more effective, than life. First-rate scripting and capable direction design for a hard-hitting, heart-touching and occasionally side-splitting experience. The actors and actresses don’t TRY to pronounce in an upper-middle-class British accent; they simply command and behave as they normally would and it is upright to the period. The dawdle is like a flash, and the script had to streamline some of the events, but all of the major events are here and are effectively presented. The ending is far more dramatic than in the other versions.

I have viewed four versions of this Dickens classic and earn the BBC space starring Havers to be the most consistantly satisfying. The oldest version is processed from a print too damaged to design a righteous result from the audio or visual standpoint. The stage version by the Royal Shakespeare group has many astounding things about it but I miss the visual images of the architecure and countryside which are so distinguished a allotment of the author’s world. The novel version staring Dallimore is short on Dickensian humor and the heavy handed music catch does too great to sink the performance.

Unlike another reviewer, I do not fetch Havers too broken-down for the role of Nicholas. He is supposed to be 19 and many 19 year olds peep mighty older than Nigel does. The best things about this BBC version are the unbelievable views of the countryside and the sight of the houses and towns.

The music is minimal but with Dicken’s contant scene shifts I don’t glean that I miss it. The actors are just to the reputation of British television actors. Mostly trained on the stage, they are dependably unbelievable. One might resolve other actors in other versions as being one’s favorites for this or that role, but overall this seems to be the choice for a reliable basic rendering of this classic.

With “Music and Lyrics,” what it intends is nothing fabulous. It aims to be a fun, romantic, sweet comedy of a man meeting a woman and falling in admire, with a inch at pop culture. It accomplishes this. I saw this on February 14, Valentine’s Day, and wanted exactly as delivered.

Paul McCartney asked in the 1970s what the world needs with another amusing savor song. “Music and Lyrics” is, in film, a comic esteem song.

Hugh Grant plays Alex Fletcher, a has-been pop singer from a defunct duo similar to Wham!, struggles to get his plot as his audience stops caring. Realistic, he knows what he is well-behaved of, but is unsure what his next step should be.

When Cora, a pretentious build of Britney Spears-Shakira-Christina Aguilera of sex-pop, offers him an opportunity to write a song, he runs into pain. He is a melody man, not a lyricist. His lyricist from his feeble band, Pop!, is long gone.

In walks Sophie Fisher, played with charm by the ever-sweet Drew Barrymore. She’s Alex’s temporary plant watering person (and not a very suited one), with a penchant for delivering peppy lyrics under her breath. Despite the scorn of fill-in wordsmith Greg Antonsky, Alex takes a liking to her style. Greg’s angst-style, hopeless lyrics seem off kilter with Alex’s personality.

Embittered from a broken affair with an engaged man, Sophie is uninterested. It is one thing to hum a tune, and it is another to commit to writing a song. However, Alex only has a few days and pressures (begs, really), Sophie to attend.

She acquiesces, and tries to write. Alex and Sophie clash, as he understands the profession of music, and is desperate, and she is quiet stuck on the failed affair.

Both are living in the past, and both need to travel up into 2007 to survive and thrive.

Finally, lyrics are written, and Cora loves them — with a few changes. Cora’s version is laced with faux spirituality and tramped-up seduction. Sophie’s artistic sensibilities are insulted, and pulls the song great to Alex’s chagrin. They argue, break-up, and now, Alex is stuck trying to fix a song.

Can he fix the song on time? Will they figure out how to live in the exhibit day? What about admire (this is a romantic comedy, remember? ) .

A beautiful self-mocking performance is set on by Kristen Johnston as Sophie’s older sister Rhonda, making jabs at her have weight-loss campaign. Brad Garrett as Alex’s agent Chris Riley is apt on the money, as he is both a manager and friend.

Drew Barrymore shows she’s more than the girl next door, but has a kind of Lucille Ball, Jenna Elfman, Meg Ryan mix going on.

Hugh Grant is perfectly cast, and is the better side of himself. He never overplays the role, and yet, does not plunge into the ’stupid Englishman’ persona he occasionally does.

I fully recommend “Music and Lyrics.”

“Music and Lyrics” is a hoot: witty, shiny, beautifully performed by the gleaming Drew Barrymore (as ditzy, charming, dazzling Sophie Fletcher) and the dry of wit, Hugh Grant (as the less celebrated half, Alex Fletcher of a hot 80’s duo, “Pop” obviously patterned after “WHAM”) and briskly paced by director Marc Lawrence.

The sage is light and airy: Fletcher needs relieve writing a song for a Britney clone, Cora. A song that could maybe bring him abet to prominence after twenty years of playing store openings, amusement parks and nostalgia concerts. Sophie, though a partner with her sister in a Weight Loss clinic, is a whiz at writing pop lyrics: presto…match made in heaven!

The interplay between Barrymore and Grant is residence on and the dialogue and yarn are almost up to their obedient timing but they both work hard, though not too as that would deny the comedy, to get this work and in most scenes it does.

“Music and Lyrics” is as light as a crepe filled with caramelized bananas and topped with whipped cream and as such don’t seek information from more from it than a big smile and the scrumptious satisfaction that comes from eating something you have no business bewitching.

Kids salvage two holiday specials for the effect of one on this Dora disk! As you can guess from the title, Egg Hunt, the first episode in this collection is all about gathering Easter eggs. Boots the Monkey and Dora search for eggs that are both extravagantly decorated and filled with fun prizes. But these radiant egg treasures are only slight teasers compared to the gargantuan prize: the Colossal Yellow Egg at Grandma’s house!

In the second episode, Dora celebrates Mother’s Day (El Dia de Las Madres) by helping her papa bake a cake for mama. Dad didn’t do his grocery shopping very well, and Dora goes on an adventure through various forests to get the bananas, nuts and chocolate that he forgot. She uses her counting skills to complete Padre’s recipe, and helps throw a terrific party for her mother.

Two other musical cartoons are on the disk, one about a music parade and one about a magic flute belonging to a boy named Pablo. The first two holiday cartoons have a astonishing emphasis on family, plus the usual Dora skills like counting, Spanish language, and computer literacy. The last two episodes follow the Dora formula of using the design and backpack to collect items, but they also have a couple of fun dinky songs interjected, not to mention the adorable sage of Pablo and his grandfather.

By their nature, the Dora cartoons are immensely repetitive. Your child learns exactly how to retort to each scenario, cheered on by Dora, Boots and all the other cute critters of Dora’s tropical homeland. Repetition is how children learn, so Dora is a gigantic character for pre-schoolers. However, beware the savvy marketing of the Dora Empire. Each episode is stuffed paunchy of glittery items that your kid will negate that she needs, from Dora’s shapely bracelet to her backpack to her shoes, etc., etc. A go to your local Wal-Mart will present you that absolutely EVERYthing in Dora’s universe is for sale, plus some additional items you never would have dreamed considerable for survival as a child. Be ready for your runt girl to beg, plead and narrate curse words in Spanish if you don’t acquiesce.

We have owned this DVD for a few months now, and having owned many Dora DVDs too, I can easily say this is the one that my kids cherish to glance the most. The study it over and over again, far more than any other of the Dora’s titles.

The Egg Hunt episode is extremely well done, as Dora, Boots and the whole gang go and scrutinize for Easter Eggs and glean blooming Egss that are filled with toys and surprises. You would even acquire Swiper dressed as an Easter bunny to try to procure it’s hands on the eggs.

The other episodes on the DVD are heavenly too, with Pablo’s flute being a nice tribute to South American flute primitive songs.

In terms of the basic space “Uptown Girls” is totally predictable. Molly Gunn (Brittany Murphy) is a rank runt rich girl who needs to grow up when she is forced to go out and win a job for the first time in her life. Ray Schleine (Dakota Fanning) is an 8-year-old even littler microscopic rich girl who is not only a hypochondriac and wise beyond her years but who needs to learn how to be a kid. Of course circumstances throw them together when Molly becomes Ray’s nanny. There is the humorous period of butting heads, the tentative beginnings of friendship, the point at which things blow up huge time, and the heartfelt reconciliation. But one of the reasons that formula films like this continue to be made is because more often than not they work. The result is not a sizable film, but an delightful one where the best allotment of the film is the finale, where between them writers Julia Dahl, Mo Ogrodnik, Lisa Davidowitz and Allison Jacobs arrive up with a creative design of bringing together major space elements.

The twist with Molly Gunn is that she is the daughter of a rock ‘n’ roll epic, guitarist Tommy Gunn. Her parents were killed in a plane break when she was about Ray’s age and she has been living off the residuals. In her apartment there is a shrine in which all of her father’s guitars are displayed, including the one on which he wrote his biggest hit, “Molly Smiles,” the song that Molly can no longer own to here. Molly might be faulty, but she has a kind heart and not a mean bone in her body. When her accountant steals all of her money and disappears she has her friends, Ingrid (Marley Shelton) and Huey (Donald Faison), who conclude moral and try to benefit her survive in the proper world (I liked not having to do deal with her friends forgetting her now that she is broke) . She also likes Neal Fox (Jesse Spencer), the young musician who plays at her birthday party. The only jam is that he is 274 days in his sobriety and wants to be celibate the first year. But he too is inspired by Molly to write a song that becomes a hit.

Ray’s mother, Roma Schleine (Heather Locklear) runs a narrate notice, which, of course, signs Neal. This also explains why Ray needs a Nanny and we already know why the kid’s attitude has a long procession of nanny’s coming and going. But beyond her immaculate room and her preoccupation with germs and disease, Ray has her occupy father issue: he suffered a stroke and is now a vegetable location up in the library of the apartment. She seldom talks about her dad and she never visits him. To Molly, this is impartial rank, but she does not give the determined speech. Ray is intelligent enough to know what she would say and Molly bides her time until the time comes to say the honest thing. In the counter-part to that scene that comes shortly afterwards, Molly and Ray communicate a whole range of emotions without either one of them even saying a word. Films like this rarely let silence announce so well on the behalf of the characters.

Dakota Fanning was the best thing in “Taken,” and after her solid performance in “I Am Sam” it is nice to look her do a more comedic role in this film. Count me in the growing list of those who believe she could well be the Jodi Foster of her generation (to wit, she is better than Jodi Foster was at this age and you have the sense that she can invent the transition from child star to adult star) . Brittany Murphy, who was wasted in “Honest Married” and was asked to do something decidedly different in “8 Mile,” sinks her teeth into this role. She has the ditzy parts down pat, but it is the unbiased moments that she shares with both Ray and Roma that she achieves her best grace notes in the film. She should gain a lot of opportunities to do more romantic comedies and as long as they have some basis in the steady world and do not require her character to go over the top, she should thrive in such roles.

Again, I want to applaud the creativity shown at the destroy of the film. Coming up with a payoff at the waste of a film like this is difficult, because you need something that brings the characters together in a delighted ending. What I like about this ending is that it achieves this without the characters fervent ever making physical contact, by spicy at least a half-dozen key position elements, and, most importantly, by having the song we have been waiting almost the entire movie to hear be as fine as it was supposed to be. When you perceive the film a second time pay attention to how the music is status up during the auction scene. There might not be enough modern here to gain this a broad film, but director Boaz Yakin has made “Uptown Girls” a nicely crafted formula film that more than meets our expectations.

Brittany Murphy, Dakota Fanning and a pig called Mu star in the challenging comedy “Uptown Girls”, directed by Boaz Yakin. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, I understanding. There were parts I liked, parts I hated, parts I was intrigued by, and parts that impartial left me baffled. Overall, I liked it though.

Molly (Brittany Murphy), is the daughter of a tedious rock star, and lives off his wealth, in decadence, within a colossal apartment, along with her pet pig Mu. She is fairly superficial, as are her friends, and Molly’s rather childish too. Sometime after her 22nd birthday, her behind father’s manager runs off with all the money she’d been living from, leaving her with nothing. She is kicked out of her apartment and has to score a job. She ends up becoming a nanny to “Ray” (Dakota Fanning), an uptight, quick-witted alecy, germophobe of a shrimp girl, the daughter of a wealthy report executive. They are certainly an irregular couple, and some funny scenes follow, but its not all laughs. As the two girls employ time together, there are many a touching and dramatic moment as they realise they have a lot in accepted, both being a puny eccentric, both being the daughters of wealthy families, and both having clear tragedies in their lives they’re yet to cope with.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a straight ahead comedy. Though there is a admire interest for Molly as well, a Morrissey-esque rock singer (Jesse Spencer) she meets at her birthday party, I wouldn’t call this a romantic comedy either, as this fellow isn’t the main focus of the film, and their relationship isn’t exactly passe. Neither of them really seem involved in each other, yet they arrive together, on again off again. The whole film was unprejudiced this kaleidescope of elements, tumbling around within the region.

Though I was a dinky do off at first, I found this film intriguing. It was intriguing to observe characters first potrayed as parodies point to a depth later on, while characters who seemed more three dimensional later showed a shallower side. No one here was exactly a carciature, but no one again was exactly completely staunch. It was a refreshing mix of the two, and I reflect they all pulled it off fairly well.

Special features include a quite big selection of deleted and alternate scenes, including a sex scene or two for some reason, as well as a tedious the scenes featurette with interviews with the actors and director Boaz Yakin, a featurette about the fashion of the film, a montage of stills, the modern movie trailer and a music video for “Time” by Chantal Kreviazuk, which looks ravishing standard for a movie soundtrack music video (shots of singer singing interdispersed with footage from the film, etc) . I would have preferred to eye a music video for the songs Jesse Spencer’s rock singer character sings, I quite liked those, they were silly and catchy, one of my current parts of the film.

An inviting comedy, got me thinking by the raze of it. Worth a examine.

My 2 year worn is a current fan of Oswald, so this DVD was a unbelievable birthday gift. His language has really exploded lately, and he has started memorizing these shows. He reenacts them while playing (so thankfully they are gentle and focus on manners and friendship) . I assume most of them include a song, and I’ll hear him singing “loove camping move” or “ice cream ice cream” even if we haven’t watched the shows that day. I like watching the shows, too. The artwork is fun, and the characters are very humorous. Squiggy from Laverne&Shirley as Henry penguin got me bent, but I also appreciate the Egg twins, Egbert and Leo. Each prove is a nice length, too (10 min? ), and can be played individually or you can notice them all at once. A winner for kids and the parents who spy with them.

We caught an episode or two on Cut Jr. when my son was unprejudiced worried of 2 (I must admit I belief it was so stupid; an octopus, snowman, a daisy & eggs as characters??? Pears as cars???? Who’d discover such a droll cartoon? ) Then my son started watching it everyday & I got to know the characters, he’s going to be three soon & he watched Oswald faithfully every day until Noggin & Cleave Jr. took it out of both its time slots. No, vast deal for me I had all of the episodes TIVO’d until one night I accidentally erased them!!!! YIKES!!! It was a major disappointment for my son. I rushed on-line & got the two DVDs for him & hope they approach out with the other episodes as well. This cartoon is grand. Every kid should gawk it. The main character, Oswald, is polite & always looking out for the other characters. Its definately a cartoon that you can feel genuine with your kids watching!!!!

Apparently the previous reviewer didn’t actually Observe the film which I do hold is a prerequisite to a superb review. This film is an eye-opener, an in depth examination of the extent that closeted contented politicians (and there are many) will go to protect themselves. This protection takes the obtain of the most vehement map of defense, reaction-formation. Unfortunately it is unpopular in many circles to be homosexual. I understand that you may want to shroud to further your career or your political agenda. But to actively work against yourself and your rights is masochistic. If nothing else, I consider the movie Outrage will educate all of us as to how self-hatred is belittling to the individual and nasty to society at spacious.

I worship a great documentary. This one is definitely advantageous, and definitely worth seeing!

Maybe it’s not the best movie as far as dialogue goes, but for being an action movie about robots from outer area, it’s ample. The transformations are capable enough to not raise doubt about the mechanics of them (which is helpful for me as an aerospace engineer, because I tend to sight these things) . This is the kind of movie that makes stout HD televisions and high-quality sound systems worth having.

For a nerd that extinct to drool over this exhibit as a kid, this movie hooks you from the very beginning. From Optimus Prime’s summary intro (with Peter Cullen serene at the helm of our well-liked alien semi) to the Decipticon attack on the military nefarious, you have no doubts that this is Transformers. Shia LaBeouf makes his entrance and proves the perfect share for this movie. He’s actually aesthetic laughable and acts the section well. As far as the rest of the humans in this cast, not as mighty can be said.

After the awesome introduction, the first share of the movie deals mainly with Shia LaBeouf’s Sam purchasing a Camaro that actually turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee (in the cartoon, originally a VW Bug. I believe the yellow VW Bug in the car lot next to Bumblebee was a homage.) Sam unknowingly uses his alien car to trace a girl. Of course she actually is impressed when they glean out it’s an alien. There are some ravishing laughable scenes in this fragment of the movie as well as some action scenes that are very well done.

Soon comes the arrival of the other Autobots and they issue to Sam their correct purpose, which is to locate the Allspark -a mighty method expedient of transforming a planet- before the Decepticons salvage a own of it. I opinion at this point that the unimaginative parts of the movie were over, but not quite. From here we go into a few too many scenes dealing with side characters, from video game playing computer experts to goofy secret agents whose quirks border slapstick comedy. Too many of these characters could be chalked up as droll relief, and most of what they attributed was not very comic. There was a slightly laughable but overly long scene where Sam was trying to conceal the autobots while he searched through his house for a relic they needed. And then arrived John Turtorro (playing the said goofy secret agent) whom I savor, but who severely overstayed him welcome in this. Other performances, namely John Voight’s, were unprejudiced dull campy and the cookie cutter dialogue was cringe inducing at times.

Luckily, I forgot most of that by the time the movie got to its last act. Once the Decepticons come in force the movie is a non finish prance of action and jaw dropping effects. While someone who’s not familiar with the characters and tale might not care what the outcome is, I found myself with memories as a kid, watching the 1986 movie for the first time. I forgot about the humans and their ho-hum sotrylines as my popular characters and toys from my childhood crashed and shot and ripped each other apart. I forgot that I was watching CG effects as the transformers search for as accurate as the environment they’re destroying. The action scenes are larger than life and I’m amazed at how well the battles of the cartoons translated onto mountainous mask. The transformers themselves were all very well done, applying steady physics to their transformations and robot appearances. They study dependable and new but don’t lose the heart of what the fanboys loved about them from befriend in the day. And Hugo Weaving as Megatron was genius. I missed hearing the new Starcream, but the fresh stutter actor died many years ago, and the two or three lines Starcream had in this sounded favorable.

Despite the expansive flaws in acting, dialogue and script, I left this movie with that rare itch to want to go straight serve inside and search for it again. From the previews, it looked like the movie was going to acquire a realistic perspective and explain the warring alien machines from a human point of opinion. But that’s really not the case at all. In every other Michael Bay movie, the corny dialogue and overdramatic characters kill an otherwise great premise. But Transformers is based on a cartoon, so why shouldn’t the movie feel like one? Here it works. It’s tremendous, dreary nostalgic fun that the kid in me has been after for 20 years.

This film was FILMED in fullscreen. Unbiased idea I’d let everyone know. It’s aspect ratio is 1.33:1, meaning it’s a “stout frame” film. In order for it to be widescreen, the top and bottom portions of the beefy frame image would have to be covered with murky bars, in order to acquire a widescreen image. This process is called “Soft Matte”. Anyway, the DVD for this film does note the whole image for this movie.

Kurt Russell plays a student of Medfield College named Dexter. When his class talks the local model citizen/bookie into donating a computer to the college, unique things begin to happen. When the computer blows a circuit Dexter volunteers to glean the fresh share. When he returns it is pouring down rain and he doesn’t realize the computer got wet too. When he replaces the circuit board and touchs two wires he gets zapped with the computers memory. Now he seems to be the smartest man in the world. When everyone wants him and the bookie will close at nothing to shut him up, things obtain silly.

I’m giving the movie five stars for entertainment and my wife gives it five stars for Kurt being so cute then. My wife and I appreciate this movie. The movie is fabulous early Disney comedy at its best. Kurt Russell and the rest of the cast probably had a blast making this movie. Fans of the Disney movies “The Strongest Man in the World” and “Now You Leer Him, Now You Don’t” will want this one too. Gigantic comedy for the whole family. For the designate the transfer is decent but the movie would be better in a Platinum Edition with Widescreen, commentary, making of, and other extras.

A appetizing characterize made in Puerto Rico and in a league with many Hollywood productions, the writers/directors have managed to extract great preformances from the amateur teenage cast. Hollywood tends to spend older actors in teenage roles who can gape befriend at their adolescence and suppose what they felt objectively (Stockard Channing was 32 when she starred in Grease) . Mssrs Vallés managed to collect these teenagers to reveal all their angst, sexual frustrations and romantic aspirations even though they may not even understand them now. There was a honest sense of discipline and professionalism in all aspects of the production. Although this movie is in Spanish, the mostly Anglo audience reacted effusively to the situations and even to the spoken jokes–this mainly due to the great subtitle translation and timing. The mix of suspense and comedy was enhanced by the first-rate musical rep that made the action seem like a choreographed ballet. The character of the school Critical, played by Marian Pabón (who is the only professional actor in the cast), was perfectly executed with time-bomb constrained subtlety as she tried to engage control of the students while repressing her fill sexual frustrations. The Valles Brothers affectionately remember their heritage with a subtle allusion to their grandfather, the slow Mario Pabón–TV producer/director, in the make of a gingerly placed photograph. I’m positive he is proud.

The movie is a must-see for anyone who has ever been in high school and remembers those student council races. It’s a film that makes you laugh from beginning to destroy, with the stereotypical, mean high school significant, unsuspecting teachers, and of course, your “group” of unforgettable friends. The film is dapper and kindly for the whole family. The added bonus is tall footage of the Island of Puerto Rico and a catchy musical come by. I bought 10 copies for family and friends!
