Excellent product, with only one minor flaw.
If you’re looking for an affordable gigabit switch that doesn’t suffer from strange auto-negotiation (speed/duplex) problems, this switch is for you.

This product is easily superior to the Netgear GS605, which may appear identical in functionality, but in actuality is not. The GS605 behaves very badly when it comes to speed and duplex auto-negotiation, resulting in incorrect speed being negotiated with Marvell, some nVidia, and some Broadcom PHYs. The GS105 does not suffer from these problems, proving the hardware in the GS105 differs from that of the GS605.

The GS105 also has an incredibly small AC adapter; it’s no where near “brick” size. However, on a power strip that has AC outlets next to one another (horizontal, not vertical), this product will probably block the AC outlet next to the one you install it in. This won’t happen with vertically-oriented power strips. Just a FYI…

The reason I ranked this product 4/5 stars is because of temperature — the GS105 runs incredibly warm (borderline hot) for such a small device. Other users have reported the same issue. It’s a minor drawback, but is worth noting for others who may wonder the same question.

If the temperature is a big concern, consider purchasing a Hawking Technologies HGS5T, which is identical in functionality to this product, runs much cooler, but has a larger footprint, and a “brick” AC adapter.

IT’S SMALL!
I think this was the smallest gig switch I could find, so I bought it. I’ve owned several other Netgear switches and have really liked them. This one is no different - works as advertised straight out of the box, although a bit warm as many have mentioned (a Netgear feature). All ports are on one side, and I like the fact that it has mounting holes and hardware that permit you to hang it out of sight so all that cable mess can stay off the top of the desk. Mounted with the ports facing down, all cables come up into the box neatly so I didn’t experience any cabling issues as some have mentioned. Two thumbs up!

Switch vs. Hub
I had a 5-port HUB (using 3 of them) across the room from my main system. When transferring files I got a steady stream of collisions. Really slowed down the transfer due to all the retransmissions.

The SWITCH was truly Plug & Play. Plugged everything in and it worked. It did all the address look-up and handshaking without human involvement. File transfers now run at full speed with no collisions.

Highly recommended.

Stealth Bomber of B&W laser printers
If you’re tired of beige or gray cheap-looking plastic printers, you’ll love this shiny new offering from Samsung.

Very low profile and paper comes out the front so you can stack items on top of it during use.

Samsung doesn’t offer a higher capacity toner cartridge but you can get one from checksnet that prints more pages and can be used for making checks.

Excellent print quality & quietest printer I’ve ever owned.

Unique look which does not compromise quality
This is my second Samsung (my previous model was a 1200 series which lasted 8 years and was eventually donated to our local school)

The ML-1630 is just stunning for a monochrome laser printer under $200. The look is unique, but as the title says, the quality is what you would expect from a home laser printer.

The characters are crisp and the graphics are perfect (2 settings, standard and above). It is very quiet, plug-and-play, can be shared without any issue on a local windows network. You get one year warranty which can be extended by another 3 months once you register your product online.

The only issue we got was with the paper. We were using recycled paper (which is quite thin) and sometimes the paper would be a little wrinkled. By switching to normal paper (Stapples), the problem went away.

Quiet fast monochrome laser printer - Samsung ML-1630
I bought this printer as a supplement to my HP OfficeJet 5610 All-in-One. The Samsung ML-1630 laser is a very quiet monochrome laser printer. Print quality is excellent for text. Also the price per page for text is very reasonable. Printer is very quiet and prints text pages quickly.

Only mediocre for printing graphic images (such as coins) that are colored. The change to gray-scale comes out a little dark.

Pros: Very small foot-print, very good looking printer, low cost per page.
Cons: Color graphics come out dark when converted to gray-scale.

Very nice picture, great player
After two years of using an Apex DVD, watching a movie on this baby is great. The picture is 10 times better, and the audio is sweet.

Waiting to see if my replacement is a lemon as well.
I had this DVD player for 6 months when the DVD playing function crapped out. Even before the DVD player failed completely it never sounded like it was operating quite right…the laser tracker made lots of noise and took more than a few seconds searching for the right spot to read on the disc. Had I known the details of the warranty, I would have tried hard to return this product within the first three months. I thought I would be totally covered for at least one year and didn’t relish the idea of trying to explain over the phone to a customer service rep a problem that doesn’t exactly stop the player from working.
Well, it turns out that parts are covered for 1 year, labor is only covered for 3 months. Bottomline is I have to shell out $59 for a Toshiba repair technician’s labor plus shipping costs from LA to Massachuesetts.

Apparently, this warranty is the industry standard, so my bad there. I guess the lesson learned is to go with a brand that I trust in terms of reliability…in this case I should have gone with Sony. My Sony TV, camcorder, PSP, digital camera, PS2, and cellphone have never given me problems…that’s why I was ignorant of the warranty details, because I’ve never had to use it before.

incorrect film for camera shown!
This film is shown as the correct film for the Fujiilm Instax MINI 7s White Instant Film Camera. This is NOT correct! It is the wrong format. The correct film is Fujiilm MINI Instax film. The camera is not yet available on Amazon and neither is the film. Make sure if you do acquire this camera that the film says MINI on the box.

Sharp, colorful images from a instant film
I tested the Fuji Instax 200 film versus the Polaroid 600 at a party and the Fuji won in every category. Clear, sharp, colorful images in and very easy and fast loading application. The instant print pictures are “wide format” and print just a bit larger than the old, familiar Polaroid prints. The Fuji prints still leave a nice little white area on the bottom for writing captions, which is nice.

My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the price. It costs about $1 per picture unless you buy it in 50 to 100 bulk. Even in bulk the price drops to only about .75 cents per picture. AND I have only found the film for sale online, so plan ahead and purchase enough film for your special event because you won’t be able to run out to Walgreens to buy more last minute.

You’re not going to get 35mm or digital print quality from this film, but in the world of instant print, this Fuji film is a winner.

Great instant film!
This is a great instant film! The size of the single shot is identical to polaroid’s 600 film, but the picture size is not square, it is wide!!!
I don’t understand such a high price! You can get an expired film for 12$ a pack and it still works great!!!
So five stars for the film itself and one star for the price.

Perfect addition to the Sony Reader.
This leather cover is both astetically pleasing and extremely funtional. It offers so much more protection to the reader than the flimsy “case” it comes with. I bought these earphones on clearance for 5 dollars just to check them out. I have since bought 2 additional pairs so each of my portable devices can have its own set. I am comfortable saying these are the best earphones I have ever purchases. I even spent 45 dollars on a pair of Philips earbuds to go with my mp3 player and they don’t hold a candle to these simple little RCA’s. If you don’t believe me, you should try them for yourself.
